Our Services

Active Landscapes brings a unique degree of expertise to the table, though what we really provide for our clients is all-around knowledge and help in moving a project forward no matter what stage it might be at, or what the sticking-points might be. With that in mind, the following services description is not at all exclusive. We invite you to come to us with nearly any issue. We’re sure we’ll be able to help.

Consultation, Design and Build

This is not so much a discrete service as a process, and we can add value to your project at any stage of that process, from initial ideation and planning to the very last stages of build and implementation. Our involvement could even span the entirety of the project, like so:

1. Consultation

We always like to begin with a no-obligation ideation and planning meeting. Over the course of this meeting we will try to understand exactly what you are looking for in your new outdoor space or play area, and what the ideal outcome would be from your organisation’s point of view. We’ll then show you examples of different ways to achieve these goals, and give you the information you need to get your creative juices flowing.

Going forward, we keep the process heavily design-led, involving all of the project’s stake-holders (your own leadership, school governors, parent or local bodies, and even the children or intended users themselves) from the earliest stages.

By the end of the consultation stage, we will have developed a comprehensive brief of the project, and you will have a very good idea what the final result will be.

3. Build

Based on the brief that was developed in the consultation stage, we can create a practical, efficient and beautiful design for the sports, fitness or play area that achieves all of your goals and conforms to your stated budget. We have many years of experience providing ideal outdoor spaces and facilities for a wide range of organisations and uses, so we will be able to create something perfect for you.

Of course, the design will also meet all relevant safety and quality standards as well.

4. Hand-Over

As part of officially opening the new play or leisure area, we will have a formal hand-over meeting to make sure we have met all of your goals for the project, and that you are happy with how it was delivered in every way. Once this is complete, the new outdoor activity area is all yours. However, we often arrange a formal opening event, which is a great way to celebrate all the hard work everyone has done, and to call attention to your new facility!

5. Maintenance and Refurbishment

Just because your outdoor area is now complete this does not mean we need to end our association with the project. We will be happy to advise you of any long-term maintenance and safety checks that may be advisable, and can again use our industry and business connections to help you find the ideal care and maintenance solutions.

External Funding Consultation

With capital budgets everywhere continuing to shrink, many organisations are keen to explore external funding solutions for outdoor play and recreation areas. The good news is that funding sources do exist, and more are created all the time. Active Landscapes has many years of industry experience and a wide network of contacts to draw upon, and we can be of great assistance in not only finding these resources, but in supporting your application process.
